The new owners aimed to preserve the original spirit of this home despite challenges posed by the tight floorplan and aging structure.

The exterior now boasts grandeur with wide stairs, a long balcony, and tall windows, while the red roof pays homage to the original bach.

Inside, the layout was cleverly reconfigured by Reginald Baker from Reginald Baker Archeticts, adding just two meters to the front but creating four bedrooms, a rumpus room, and enhancing the main bedroom.

The open-plan downstairs features inviting timber ceiling beams, blonde forte flooring, custom steel staircase and a kitchen with contrasting black steel columns. The splashback’s sea-green tiles maintain a fresh feel. Despite obstacles, the outcome is clear, an incredibly livable spaces that exude a perpetual holiday vibe.
